Barry purchased the Triumph in March 1968 in Townsville, Queensland, Australia when it was twelve months old with 3,000 miles up.  A heavily modified 1961 TR4 was traded in as part payment.  In late 1971 the TR4-A was traded on an Alfa 1750 GTV.  In late 1973 however, Barry was looking for a "big" Healey but stumbled across his old TR4-A, so it was regained, albeit not in as good a condition as when it was traded on the Alfa.  A major mechanical restoration was undertaken in 1987 and a body restoration in 1989.  The car was being used rarely and in January 2013 has been sold to someone who will care for it and give it some exercise.
