This particular 560SEC apparently was imported
from Japan in about 2005 as an online Australian advertisement
appeared in that year. The first Australian owner was a Sydney
lawyer, followed by three South Australians, most notably Allan
Scott of Scott Transport Mt Gambier who owned a notable vehicle
collection. Following Allan Scott's passing in late 2008 the
car was sold by a Mt Gambier dealer (Carlin & Gazzard?) and stayed
in SA until October 2010 before being purchased by a Queenslander.
He retained the car until late 2012 and sold to a Brisbane dealer,
prior to relocating to an island, and I purchased from that dealer
in July 2013. Of course, we would welcome anyone being able to
fill in the history gaps as much documentation has been lost by the
most recent owners.
This 560SEC is in quite good condition for its
age (1989 model) but this is due to having low kilometres of
approximately 132,000 when purchased. Colour is Pajett Red
exterior with Orion Grey leather. Wheels were non-original, but
apparently rare, AMG Aero 1, 17"X8". These have been
changed to an excellent set of original 15" wheels to restore the
original comfort. Also non-original, but a
worthwhile addition, is a Kenwood integrated entertainment system
incorporating GPS, Phone compatibility, reversing camera etc.
Now sold. Owned for eighteen months but
I would like to have the option of experiencing other interesting
cars before 'they' take my licence away.
